If your stupid enough to lock your only key in the boot, say for instance whilst shopping at Tesco in Baldock. 
Remove rear number plate, remove number plate surround, poke coat hanger (tesco's ones are good) through electric cable hole and catch lock to release boot. Obviously its better not to leave them in there in the first place, especialy if you have your darling wife with you bleating on about 'why did you do that then'.

Did that not long ago, but luckily I'd unlocked the car, and the boot can be opened from the inside.

See that's the difference between the two of us, I do my food shopping in M&S. Rather more to my liking than Tesco's.

Moral... Carry a spare key on seperate keys. ie. 1. Cab keys 2. house keys with spare cab key. My silly son-in-law locked his keys in the boot of his Merc SL600. No spare, Had to stay all night in a Lakeside car park with the car. AA could not help, The AA locksmith could not help even after drilling out the lock. When the Merc people turned up in the morning they smashed a rear light and reached into the boot open the boot from the inside. He was not a happy bunny, and what an expensive outing. |

I keep a spare key for my car hidden in my office, that way if I get stuck I can call the office and get a driver to bring me the spare.

Firm near me had a cute way of keeping a spare key. The "red" key was taped inside the cowling behind the steering wheel so that the chip activated the car at all times but had 3 spares cut, one for driver use, one in the office, one at the owners house. Only downside was drivers had to enter the car manually. Im not to sure how it would stand up insurance wise but got them out of a jam more than once and if a key was lost, it was never the "red" that went tata's |
