Fit and forget ![]() Reading some of the reports on blanking the EGR valve off it looks a good fix for £4, some people are reporting 60MPG and a smoother running motor with better turbo boost. |

If you have trouble with the EML light coming on then they advise drilling a small hole in the centre of the plate to allow a small amount of the exhaust gas through to kid the computer that all's well. Seems Fords and Volvos are more prone to the light coming on tho, Peugeots rarely have bother.

Even goin' to all that trouble is still cheaper than £240.00+fitting for a new egr that will only last 50k miles or so.

Yes should do. I asked for a plate that suited the RHK engine which yours should be if it's 2008. Mine is a late 2008 58 plate. |

Blanked off the EGR yesterday. Cab runs much smoother with less turbo lag. Turbo seems to spool up quicker. No surge when on light throttle in 5th gear which was a pain. Oh....and no EML light on. Covered 200 miles last night with no problems, if anything was gonna show up it would have done so by now methinks.
