Post subject:  Rusty Relays!

My dipped headlights stopped working today, after a bit of investigation it turned out to be the relay.

I can't quite believe it took this long to fail in the state it's in...

I guess this is what years of leaking does to them.

It's off a Fairway Taxi, but imagine it's probably found on vehicles such as the Land Rover, and several of the Leyland vehicles.

If it is on a Leyland vehicle I would say that it is good condition. :wink:

Its rusty but its off a fairway so what do you expect.the only bits that haven't gone rusty on mine are the floorboards. They've got wet rot,but no rust.

You can still buy those. Not the cheapest place but London Taxi Group sell them. Check your windscreen rubber; maybe it's leaking.

Clean it up and find the part number relays are bought in and will have applications for other vehicles.

If that's the pink relay, look for Lucas YWC10050
