its your DPF light

Diesel Particulate Filter

its clogged

thrash the car for 10 - 25 minutes, it might blow the soot out, if not....

I had one come on during a long run once and it frightened the life out of me.

But drove it for 30 odd minutes in third gear on the way back and it went off when I stopped and restarted.

All a bit of a con really.

It's nothing to do with the EGR Skip, the DPF is in the exhaust,

It depends on the year of your E7. If it's Jan 2012 onwards ( Euro 5 ) it's probably your DPF. If it's Before then ( Euro 4 ) it's probably your EGR valve. Problem is the Anti- pollution message is a generic one and could be a number of other things ( air mass meter etc.) if it is your EGR valve, you can't just blank it off as the warning light will still show up on your dash. The only way around this is to replace the EGR valve and blank it off at the same time.

my DPF has its own light

1 cause is using the wrong grade of engine oil, mine needs a dextrose 2, C3 oil

Euro 4 E7's don't have a DPF. Wait until the Euro 6 hdi's come out (sept this year) they're using the ad-blue system that a lot of commercial vehicles and buses already have. That means a seperate filler, tank and injector to inject the 'stuff' into the Selective reduction catalyst.
I say 'stuff' because it's mostly urea, in fact, pig pee ! If it wasn't so ridiculous it would be funny ! This time Brussels really are taking the pi@@

The solution, will pass an mot smoke test all day long and because the box is still there it cannot fail the MOT, this was the solution for many Skoda owners when the bought the early ones with them fitted, on the newer skodas the dpf is closer to the engine so it get hotter much quicker and doesn't cause the early problems
