Ohhh! Two topics I one day

The MOT procedure here in Sweden, and the rest of the EU as I understand it, is not very kind to diesel engines

The dreaded opacity test!!!

They rev the engine with full throttle to test the exhaust gases.

Is there not a way to turn down any rev limiter prior to the MOT?
Or perhaps fit a rev-counter with a red marking at say, 4200 rpm

I had a Montego diesel 15 years ago, with the Perkins Prima TD engine, i could adjust the pump right down for the MOT, it never failed....

Do you remember the time when we were told that we all had to have diesels because petrol emissions were killing children and polar bears. Now,we all have to buy petrol cars because diesel fuels are (depending on who you listed to) much worse.
Cows farting are also causing something or other to greenhouses.. It makes you wonder what they'll find to blame next.

We fart about sticking up windmills (which dont provide anything when the wind doesn't blow so they have to have 'back up') and put awful sea gull roasters on the roofs of houses. The green lobby run around in their recycled rubber shoes (or cycle on their Chines made bikes) all full of smug thoughts that their silly and costly efforts are saving the planet. Meanwhile,back in the real world the factories of China and India pollute on a truly massive scale and we import the crap they make.
