Imo it depends on whether you are a day or a night driver! To put it into perspective; On day shift (stating the obvious) it is easier to see what is on the roads i.e broken glass/bottles deliberately stood up + other junk that can easily slash new/good tyres that will finish them prematurely. On the basis of better vision it makes sense to spend a bit extra on good tyres. On nights I have had brand new tyres finished in the first couple of weeks, due to poor visibility, and our wonderful young people who like to scatter glass...........you makes your choice! |

I Reckon your customers deserve decent tyres, the difference in cost due to the extra wear mileage of a good tyre makes the longer term costs negiligible yet the safety and handling will be noticably better. |

Cheap replace twice, premium brands replace once. I put all season tyres on last October, they start at 9 mill, the fronts are at 4 mill the backs 7 mill, 35K so far. Might give the new Michelin cross climates a try next time. |

No just leave them, until fronts worn, then replace, fronts moved to the back, works out cheaper to buy 2 instead of 4, always check TP weekly, and get free WA check done when changing fronts |

The reason for changing the tyres from front to back is usuall to even out any wear due to tracking that may be slightly out.

Chevvy was 205/60H16, not a big difference but 50% dearer than 205/55 16 |

One of the owners has just fitted Michelin cross climates they look the business, he said they are nice a quiet, and don't half grip the road in dry and wet conditions. http://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/m ... e=33706459 |
