Hi Guys

I’ve got 2 cars over here in Spain now.

Both have some form of issue or other!!!

Ok, out of the blue whilst I’m getting the garage to sort out overheating issues on one car, leaking steering issues on the other etc. I now have a problem with one car that has this weird emissions set up on it. It doesn’t have the normal air filter, it has this strange drum type air filter and additional water hoses, electrics and valves.

The problem is that one of the water hoses has cracked and the metal part that is fitted on top of what looks like a carb and is held on with large turbo intercooler type hoses has got a small part broken too.

I’m sure that when it is working then it is a great idea, however if I’m going to have problems because it isn’t a standard part then I’d rather remove this set up and return it to standard.

So, my question is, what parts do I need apart from the original air filter housing and how difficult is it to return the car to the original set up? I can see electronics and valves etc.

Thanks for your anticipated help!

Hi Skippy

No, I think its some sort of taxi cat low emissions system or something like that.

How do you add photos here? I'd like to take pics and post them on here.

Hi Mr T.

I just realised that this stupid taxi cat emissions system has a large floppy hose which was just hanging above the radiator. On closer inspection it was slightly impeding the running of the viscose fan, I've now raised this floppy hose and tie clipped it out of the way so that the fan can run freely!!

I'll see if this makes a difference, if not I'll probably go the route of swapping radiators.

If you can spin the fan backwards when it's running......it;s no good...
