On the sliding door a metal insert at the top of the door locates into a plastic receiver located in the bodywork of the door frame, basically it stops the door rattling (of a fashion). Unfortunately the plastic receiver inserted into the frame, either comes out Or gets pushed through into the skin of the framework, forever lost until the day of dismantling.

I have used silicone to try and keep it located which lasts for a while, but not as long as I would like! Basically I need something that will glue plastic to metal.......any suggestions please?

Adjust the door to fit and the plastic cups last for ages. When the cups break up or disappear into the door pillar, adjust the door and fit a new cup, they are really cheap.

If you glue one in successfully you will not adjust the door and do serious damage all of a sudden, it will cost much more than 100 cups will, to repair.

I think that you can adjust them of a fashion, unfortunately much of it is down to passengers trying to slide he door down the street with great force.
