I feel obliged to get him a new one sorted out and not repaired

Can't you get one of these repair firms in to fix it? They'll make it good as new and it'll be cheaper. If it was my bumper and you offered me the repair I'd take it. That's all the repair shop will do.

If its dented with no cracked paint, they can be repaired with a hair dryer or hot water, see utube

Having found out that I would be raped by peugeot for a replacement -without the spray needed on top, Ive talked to my mate and he has agreed to get it repaired.

It will be like new when they've repaired it.

No wonder your Skoda is fucked.
