2012 E7 full service history 208.000miles. I have been told that the main shaft in gear box has gone south. Phoned AMG they told me because the mileage of the cab its down to ware and tare. So i reminded them that i brought the cab with 5 years unlimited mile warranty. There answer to that was because its a moving part its subject to ware so was not covered. So whats in the gearbox thats not a moving part i asked. The main shaft is a serviceable part he said. Well how many people do you know that take there cars for an oil & Filter change air filter change and fuel filter change and and a main gearbox shaft change. So that must mean that the engine warranty is a con as well then. NO HE SAID. Well the pistons move the camshaft moves the crankshaft moves. Yes he said that all comes under ware and tare as well . SO FU-- ALL IS REALLY COVERED THEN IS IT. I'm not saying don't buy an E7 just don't give yourself peace of mind thinking your covered for 5 years YOUR NOT IF IT MOVES ITS NOT COVERED what a con

I do agree sort of. But unless you buy a TX or Merc there's
Not much choice out there if you have to have Hackney spec. I would love a Tx
But to many dead miles in this town to justify 23mpg

I've never been convinced about these warranties.

In fact I've always thought they are a big fat con.

All drivers aren't like you Skip, the scrap one could be worse than the one he's got in at the moment. If you find a decent breakers yard now your lucky, most breakers only sell the whole car now.

The only one that was any good was the Skoda one, they stopped doing that warranty when they bought a load of shonky boxes from Czechoslovakia, it cost them a fortune because they were all on unlimited mileage warranty.
