PostPosted: Mon Feb 02, 2004 11:43 pm
I would like to hear from anyone who is having problems with their TXII.
Please post a reply to this message listing all you problems.
I would like to ascertain whether there are common faults or if they are all different problems.

do you want a list?

air con bracket broke 123 miles (& prior to 1st shift)

front pads, 1000 miles,

wheel bearings (now not under warrenty after 36K)

air con pump

Clutch x 2

Flywheel x 2

fuel pump

the best idea is to buy two, one to use at weekends

until that engine comes out (ford), they'll always be a dog.

but rumours abound.... i know this bloke okay and.....

Regards

Captain Cab

Jesus

That does surprise me Captain.

Have they caught up enough to have air con?

Bet it is only for the driver, not the punter, that would be the normal mantality of the company/product.

Mann Overton salesman many years ago

'There you go Mr Thumb, the ultimate taxi!'

TT 'But my head is stuck against the roof, I can hardly see through the sunvisor and the seat doesn't lower or go back!'

MO 'but try the turning circle, bet you Merc can't do that'

TT 'Sit in the back and let me drive you over these speed humps at 20mph, now lets try the Merc!'

MO 'but it has a radio with FM frequencies!'

TT 'and how much?'

MO 'only 4K more than the Merc, but what about the turniong circle?'

TT 'Goodbye!'

Thats all rubbish about the TX2 having a better turning circle than the Merc. If you have a front wheel drive one, just yank on the steering wheel and grab the handbrake. You can turn em almost in their own length. :)

One of our local owner/drivers has asked if I could sound out the group
about problems he is having with emission failures on his early TX2, solved
by cleaning out the EGR valve and resulting in performance better than when
new, but quick to deteriorate and requiring a repeat cleaning performance
sooner rather than later. Has anyone out there had similar experience, is
this a common problem that LTI will not put their hands up to... or has he
just acquired a dudun? He is not on the internet so any replies received I
shall pass to him as printed hard copy.

Best wishes

Andy

Why do you need a mob of you to go to court.
If the motor is no good then go to the small claims court.
