The original ignition barrel on my TX2 gave up the ghost. Got a new barrel, fitted it and coded the keys using Forscan. It was a bit of pain to get the spare coded but eventually it worked.

After a few days the spare key seems to have lost its code and won't pass the immobiliser and now the main key will not work unless the green chip is inserted at the top of the barrel and only this way.

I read somewhere that the issue could be down to the black key reader ring on the barrel itself.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Put a new lead in from starter motor to back of ignition.

I'm sure BA is on the money, but just one word of caution: I had a friend that got a whole new ignition from LTC for their TX2 and after days of trying they still couldn't get the spare key to work reliably.

Got an electrician in who relaized that the dash LED wasn't going off when the key was inserted, so he opened up that little blue flap on the key, and found the idiots at the factory, had put the RFID chip backwards meaning it was just too far away from the sensor when it was inserted. He flipped it around, popped it back in it worked. Worth a try if nothing else.
