Hi Guys, Has anyone ever took the half shaft out of tx2? to change the seals just wondering how difficult it is. I have a leak from the axle right down the back of the backing plate of the brakes. Wondering if its a difficult job can it be done yourself or is it a garage job. # |

Thin o ring on out side of bearing ... but it is the bearing that is leaking... you can do it yourself ..you need the W/bearing... locking ring...big hammer....small grinder.. length of scaffolding tube.....3 to 4 hours.....ps gloves and goggles.. |

And how much does it take if you jack up the cab on the side you are working on , you will not lose any.... just ordinary diff oil smells like cats pi**....you have to disconnect the rear brake cylinder from the brake pipe. Easy way buy a secondhand half-shaft ... they are sided |

Ok thanks mate. What easier to get a second hand already instead of trying to get a new bearing on my one? There's a engine place over this side of the water wirral that will press on bearings so it makes that part of the job easier. |

I will be replaying the shoes and drums at the same time as i think my drums are warped or out of round as they grab/puslate when when braking quite badly |
