Just before getting round to posting a review of how well my car was running at 3 years old it breaks down !

Just over 90,000 miles and engine management comes on 'check hybrid system' message. Not a problem, straight to dealer, water pump failure. Fixed under warranty and back on the road in 2 hours =D> Got a new 12v battery as well, diagnostics showed it was on it's way out. Still under 3 year guarantee so that was free as well =D> :D =D>

Other than that, nearly 3 year old, 90k and still runs as new. Not had any other mechanical work other than servicing. Still original disk pads and disks, two sets of windscreen wipers, 3 or 4 headlamp bulbs and several tyres. No scratches or dents, interior a few scuffs but wearing better than previous mondeos.

Overall average mpg for the 3 years I'd say is 60mpg (lowest 56 highest 70 !!) In that time I reckon I've saved around £4000 in fuel costs compared to my old Mondeo Tdci (for 45k miles by me, other driver did the other 45k). Very happy, definately have another, although in a few years it might be all electric if viable.

Toyota Auris hybrid tourer.
