Hi All,
Does anyone know the method of removing/replacing the alternator on a TX2, have a workshop manual or know where to get one please as I am stuck with the motor off the road at the moment.
Thanks

Just had a look at youtube and the only TX2 clip there is someone doing something else.

That said there are 100s of clips of alternator changes and you must be able to get some clues from them.

Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for the response, but I was after a bit more direction in the normal method of removal, such as if it's normally removed from the top, bottom or the front and what items are normally removed to facilitate the removal.
Battery disconnected, air box and pipe removed, electrics disconnected, serpentine belt removed, location bolts removed so far.
Cheers

p.s. Does anyone have a workshop manual for the TX2

Easy.

1/2 Inch Drive into the alternator belt tensioner,
push towards the drivers side,
remove the belt off the steering pump,
undo the power steering pump 4 x 10mm bolts.
move steering pump out the way,
undo alternator bolts ( 2 up the top & 2 at bottom)
lift up alternator from the top,
unclip the wire harness,
and the refit the same way.

It something to that effect!

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, and after contacting a few Taxi garages and then the manufacturers the method of removal is to disconnect the offside steering arm and wiggle the alternator free from undrneath, it is tight and you have to be careful of the oil cooler pipes.

I could still do with a Workshop Manual, so if anyone has one or knows where to get one please let me know.

Thanks

Forgot about the crash link.

Undo that at the bottom of the steering box and then slide it up.

Look up how to remove it from a Ford Transit

@A25WESTR and @Robin814

What's the best way to remove it? From above or below?

I have a left hand drive so my battery is back behind the air filter hose and my steering is obviously on the other side.

I also have the Air Con so if I remove the power steering pump, do I also have to remove the aircon? If so I'm thinking it easier to go from underneath?

What do I have to remove if I go from below. Sorry for all the question but the workshop manual has virtually nothing about the alternator.
