hi has anybody had to replace bulbs in the roof hire sign, 2015 E7 taxi

Yep, they’re a bit of a pain but doable. ( if it’s the same as a 2009 one, which I think they are) Once you’ve took the unit off, ( unscrew the two holding screws,it pulls out, just disconnect the wiring block) the two pieces are held together with sealant, you have to carefully use a Stanley knife and prise it apart. I bought an LED strip bulb off fleabay and fitted that, you can either solder it or just splice the wires together with insulation tape. Putting it back together is easy enough, just buy a tube of bathroom sealer.

It’s not that bad! I had to have a replacement when mine went, Cab Direct sent me a new one in the post so I thought I’d have a go with the old one, worse case scenario it was going in the bin anyhow. :roll:

Still compared with changing a Mondeo headlight bulb it's a doddle.

Having to part remove bumper and wing to get lamp out, to change one poxy bulb, is pure and utter madness. :sad: :sad: :sad:
