Post subject:  Ford warranty
My 20 plate pro cab has developed a fault the batteries under the seat are getting extremely hot. So phoned up Fords. Told me there unable to look at it till the end of October. So contacted Ford customer services. They also told me they couldn't find a dealership to look at it till the end of October/ November. Now been off the road 2 weeks. At the moment Ford
Commercial have a advert on the radio saying.
AT FORD WE UNDERSTAND THAT IF YOUR VAN DOESN'T WORK YOU DON'T WORK. THAT WHY ITS TIME TO BUY A NEW FORD COMMERCIAL. There's Obviously a difference between understanding and giving a SH-T

That's totally unacceptable. [-X

Surely they must know what the problem is, and if so why can't they ask you to get it sorted elsewhere and bill them for it?

One of our guys had a problem a few years ago with an E7 purchased from cabdirect. Peugeot gave him the runaround. He called cabdirect and the finance company (Blackhorse I think) and informed them he was rejecting it under the sale of goods act. It was soon sorted. I never had much joy from cabdirect after sales myself but it worked for him.

Just spoken to my local main dealer they have promised to fit it in by Friday.
Taking me up to 2 full weeks off road
As for the finance company they wouldn't get involved as its just a fault that can be fixed. But it's the fact of the time scale that p-ss me off. You buy a new vehicle for the warranty and the piece of mind that your covered when things go wrong.
Only a main dealer can fix a new car under warranty.

You can have a vehicle repaired under warranty at any VAT registered garage.

Any vat garage can service your car as long as they use Genuine Ford parts And can also repair it. But then I would have to pay for it. And if its electrical or an alternator it could cost hundreds
Ford motor company wouldn't pay my garage to fix it. It has to be fixed by Ford warranty to be free of charge

You can claim the repair costs back. And you’ve had two weeks off already. How much is that in loss of earnings? A colleague in Lincoln has had the same problem with Ford keeping him waiting.

How do they know it can be fixed if they have not examined the vehicle?

A friend of mine had a similar problem with his custom, although it was the the earlier 15 plate. Started off with a strange smell in the cab, but not the usual rotten eggs smell you get from a bad battery. When he lifted the seat the battery was cooking, a new battery solved it.

I read online that where dual batteries are fitted on fords if the Front battery is faulty it causes the rear most battery to overheat.

Well it might not have been looked at yet
But I wouldn't think a 20 plate cab would be a right off just because the battery is over heating
