Post subject:  Question's about central locking

So my TX2 only came with one key fob for the central locking and the other day it died completely, Tried changing the battery which made no difference, I've got a brand new fob which i've had for years which i got when i first got the cab with the intention to program it but never got round to it. Any idea's on how to program these, Can it be done through forscan or is there another way.

Second question is am i right in thinking that when you use the key in the drivers door lock it should lock/unlock all 4 doors? As the remote has died i went to lock the door using the door lock however it only unlocks/locks the drivers door. Is there another issue or is that just how it is?

Thanks

Your drivers door has a Master activator in it, the other doors have a slave activator , As the weather gets colder the wiring inside the cabs gets brittle and snaps, it could well be that

Cheers Mr T I'll have a look, Would that explain why the remote died as well or is that a different issue entirely?

I have retired from working on vehicles the TX2 and the Tx4 have upgraded the electrical systems as they have gone on, And I still have friends who are working on them all the time so I asked the question, I’m told that The master activator in the drivers door has been removed too many problems with it, and that normally it’s just a point of replacing the fob, but most Drivers just locked the passenger front door from the inside, lock the rear doors from the inside of the drivers door and then just use the key to lock the drivers door hope this helps

Thank you for the advice MR T. For the time being that's what i'll do, I do have a brand new fob that i got about 14 years ago when i got the cab and you could still buy the fob's. It just needs programming to the cab which i never got round to doing. Do you know how to program new key fob's to these? If so what is the procedure? Or is it a specialist job?

Thanks
