On this forum some have been moaning about the price of servicing Skodas. What Skoda don't tell you is that providing you use a VAT registered garage, and use Skoda parts, then your warranty stays intact even if you don't use their rip off dealers. |

Charles, In fact Skoda do tell you that. Skoda dealers behave and say different, so the garages have difficulty getting the free parts. will never buy a Skoda ever again. |

It's the same with all the dealers. Many garages now are VAT registered and you can save a shed load of cash in using these garages and your warranty stays intact. |

Rip off Skoda,also rip off Fiat. First service £173-83p. Second service £232-39p. No parts required,just usual oil,filters etc. Complained,sorry sir that is the maufacturers standard charge. Go back again,will I thump. Found another garage,better service and cheaper labour,and I shall buy the Fiat parts myself that is required,to ensure warranty is honoured. Rip off garages,but hey it is not only the garages,it is rip off Great Britain and we cannot do a thing about it. POOR DOOOOOOBLO MAN.(Still a good buy).What says you Sussex. |

I think EU law has just changed so that you can now service any vehicle anywhere, and providing you keep to the service time-table and use maker's parts, then all warrenties are safe. About time flipping too. |

It is embarasing to see a new car near an AA van, not a good advert at all so they are given the software keeps the band in the nick. software licences for most vehicles is a paultry £4,000 per year per manufacturer. now most of the management systems comes from Germany, and the no of suppliers is reducing hence your claim of standardisation. just watch though if it gets down to 1 the eurocrats will scream monopoly you know screaming leaches like one t*** does on here Geoff |

Theres a similar thing for Volvo' dealers called VADIS. its a DVD software based manual for the whole Volvo range ring down to every nut and bolt. could come in handy as theres no haynes manual for mine 
you can pick up copies of the DVDs on E-bay for about £30. |
