anyone exp'd probs with mondeo diseils?? i've got a 51 plate 2.0 dieseil. the engine started jumping and cutting out. can restart when cold. at first thought there was some rubbish in bottom of fuel tank as only happen when on qtr of tank had been running car as full as possible and had been fine for three weeks but now has happend with tank 3/4 full. I know there have been a lot of probs with mondeo diseils wondered if anyone has had similar prob... hoping not fuel pump by reading other posts......... also just started after the silicon petrol probs anyone know if diesel was affected??? |

Sounds like the actuator inside the fuel pump mate, this regulates the amount of fuel to the turbo unit, you'll need to take it to a diesel injection specialist so he can hook it up to a computer and see whats going on with the actuator. When mine went last year it cost me nearly £900. |

Seemingly the egr (or agr valve) is a very common fault on the tdci,s and costs about £150 to replace and cut the smoke and mpg problem out. |

That's true, but a 2001 will almost certainly be the Tddi engine. The EGR valve is irerelevant in this case anyway. The symptoms the OP is describing are definitely fuelpump related. If he's lucky it'll be the lifter pump and not the main. Mind you, he's not been back on here so maybe he's still on 72 hour shifts paying for the repair bill
