I have had a lot of problems with the sliding passenger door on my E7, it was out of alignment and would not close properly. It was so bad that you could see daylight through the top of the framework from inside the cab, this in turn lets in a small amount of rainwater and can be quite cold for passengers.

In fairness to Cabs Direct they replaced the door, but the problem was there to see because even after replacing the door it was still not flush with the bodywork, I have taken it back to the garage on numerous occasions but they were never able to totally 100% get it right .

I am now out of warranty by 5 months and the same problem is still evident, would I be right in saying that the work should be done under warranty as the original fault was never cured?

Technically speaking although it is only 2 years and 5 months old I now have a vehicle that is unroadworthy for taxi purposes

I'm pretty sure you should still be able to continue with the original claim provided you have not previously accepted completion of the job.

I wonder if someone in 'the other place' may have some experience or knowledge, John. May be worth trying.

Good thinking Batman, thought I would try here first - but will do. Not sure if anyone wants to speak to me at the moment

Surely that's a Peugeot issue, so why not get into contact with their after-sales.

Got in touch with their "Customer Care" and was given a case number - right good so far!

I then get passed onto a guy who will check everything out, he manages to get back to me with all the wrong info because he was in the wrong department of the Peugeot garage that I use. After I tell him which dept to go to he assures me that he will get back to me , time goes on and as ever I have to ring to find what is going on, anyway it is sorry time as they are moving office! but he will ring the following week.

I gave him until Wednesday afternoon and re rang, you go through to front line operators/staff who inform me that he apparently was not answering his phone but would leave a message on his desk. I did the same on Thursday, they will leave a message, the same again on Friday the same they will leave a message but no reply, is this guy trying to tell me something or what, but I will get there.

So when you see the words "Customer Care" do not build your hopes up, as the words in this country have no meaning whatsoever.

Trevor as you indicate - more than one way to skin a cat, not that I skin cats of course - you have got to be ever so careful what you say these days

Surprise Surprise "PEUGEOT CUSTOMER CARE" I cannot even phone them, constantly on hold and will not return phone calls or answer
E-Mails.

I went on other forums and it would seem that Peugeot make it as difficult as possible for you to contact them

How are these Ba$tards allowed to get away with it.

John, It looks like a trip to trading standards and let them take up your case, goods not fit for the purpose springs to mind, and as you have been back and forth during the warranty period you still have the law on your side

I had already rung Trading Standards, they passed me onto "Consumer Direct" because they say they are more specialist  "Consumer Direct" reckon that my argument is with "Cabs Direct". I have been told to get a letter off to them explaining blah blah blah, but the bottom line is that "Consumer Direct" do not actually get involved. Is this another buffeting zone?

Send a letter via registered post saying that unless you hear from them within 10 days you will start proceedings in the small claims court.

It's very easy, will cost you next to nothing, but will cost Cab Direct loads to challenge you.

But keep on banging on about this on all the forums and send the links to Cab Direct's boss.

After two weeks of the "Peugeot Customer Services Manager" not communicating, I sent off another E-mail stating amongst many things that I would get an answer one way or another - guess what! I received a reply from the man this afternoon, unfortunately he does not see it as their fault as basically the door gets used excessively

Anyway a polite E-Mail has been returned stating that the car was sold as a Taxi, and as such it should have been up to the job. Ducking and weaving at the moment comes to mind along with evading responsibility, however one shall plod on, all your comments and thoughts are more than welcome.

Why don't you send him a copy of the article that you're placing in Taxi Talk and ask him if he would like to place an article in reply
