Well why not put the rank on the main road outside the station?

Can't, the main road outside is a dual carriageway and the other entrance is possibly 200 yds up a hill.

Hardly see people wanting to walk to get the cabs they'd end up phoning.

I aint a station cab but these guys currently pay £65-£95 per week for the "right" to use the station rank, it's a little unfair that they'd not be able to recoup monies towards that.
