This Golf idea could work,
get all the golfers from each council area to play at there local club, most clubs will wave the green fees for a charity event as long as the bar is used, the top 3 from each area, then plays the neighbouring area on a knockout, once all the council areas have been played it then goes on to county's, there again playing the neighbouring one.
To cut down on traveling expenses, England could be cut into 2 half's, yes I know not much difference there LOL and Scotland and Wales
So in the final there would be 12 players.
Every player puts in £10 to play, games are to be played at the start of a week when it quiet.
All money raised could then be put in a high interest account and used to help the family's of murdered taxi and PH drivers, unless anyone else has any ideas, or can come up with a better plan of action

I think its a good idea too skippy, If you can find a golf bag big enough to cover my head, I'll come join you. Although I wouldn't fancy giving an after dinner speech with a golf bag on my head.

Golf seems an interesting proposition but I would require a handicap of at least 18 considering most of you guys are probably infinitely better than me. lol

I propose we play at the Belfry which is a big enough course for me to hide in. lol

If you hear the word fore-play echoing around the golf course it will probably be me and my female caddy doing a little excavation in one of the many bunkers that are a feature of the Belfry.

I will need a ball finder as I'm accustomed to a bit of rough and my eyesight is currently in a state of decline.

I shall need a Mr T on which to place my ball but I sincerely hope I don't wack it so hard that it disintegrates.

We have a ready made Captain who I hear is a bit of a shark but I presume he and I will be on opposing sides, even if we happened to be on the same team? lol

Members of the NTA, T&G and NTTG will only play those holes that are restricted, whle the rest of us will play every hole. lol

I'll bring the TDO book of golf rules, which naturally I would amend so my team cannot lose.

We could all arrive in licensed Limousines provided for by one our benevolent TDO subscribers, complimentary champagne provided of course.

The competition would consist of a two ball match play and anyone getting a whole in one will win a signed copy of Dustys Myth and Reality, besides buying the customary round of drinks of course.

The after dinner speech will be delivered by a dumb waiter and the evening frivolities will be completed with a rousing rendition of "auld lang syne", everyone would then slip quietly away to their sleepy hollows and never be heard of again, until the next reunion of course.

Regards

JD
