You forgot to mention that it's not a purpose built vehicle.... is just a converted van..

And? :?
I take it your knowledge does not include the difference between vehicles built on a separate chassis, and vehicles with in-built chassis .. and their life expectancies. whether by age, or mileage

What's that got to do with the E7/Mondeo issue then? :?

when the E7 was first introduced in Sefton, it was placed in the same category as a saloon vehicle..But. at the same time the council were advised to revisit this condition after 8 year's.. and to have a full independent survey of the vehicle.

it's first made as a van.. and then converted.... you could possibly use it as a van

Never seen a van with;

a taximeter
seperation screen
intercom so that the driver can to speak to the parcels & they can speak back to the driver
roofsign with the word 'taxi'
heater to keep the parcels in the back compartment warm
blacked out windows so that the parcels can have some privacy
restraints for a wheelchair
ramps for disabled parcels

It's a purpose-built taxi!

You can buy the van with the windows in ... and everything else separately on your list... and put them in yourself..... you would save thousands.....DIY... purpose-built E7.

So what's the difference between the Peugeot E7 & the London Merc.

Both started as vans, both purpose-built to be taxis.

No illusion there!

More like 200 attended the meeting.

Those that came late could not get in; standing room only.

A right 'carry-on' was witnessed by all.

I've never been to a licencing committee meeting where one agenda item lasted 3 hours & 12 minutes.

Full eye-witness report coming soon.

Quote:
Private hire driver Hussain Iqbal, aged 39, of Banford Avenue, Washwood Heath, said he feared the changes would prove too expensive for many operators and they would turn their back on the job. “I can’t afford to spend £15,000 on a car and paint it yellow if I’ve got to sell it eight years later because nobody will want it,” he said.

“I agree that there should be a single colour, but it’s going to be hard to afford it. With the cost of insurance and fuel going up all the time, it’s becoming difficult to operate as a private hire driver.”

I wonder how much the guy was expecting for a ex PH car with 400,000 miles on the clock?
