I wasn’t aware TAXI was a compulsory read for drivers?

If folks don't want to read it, don't pick a copy up? :?

I'm quite enjoying the information on the Knowledge, I have an avid interest in London film locations and have assisted in a couple of books about Thames TV locations, of which the Knowledge was one of their best late 70's film.

Have a read of the camera hot spots instead . . . .

http://www.derelictlondon.com/ (Buy the book, increase my funds)

It doesn't matter if the 56 plate drivers are in the LTDA or not, we have a man on the TFL board now.
Or are you saying he wont be working for every driver in London regardless of Political affiliation.

That depends on whether you are approaching him as an LTDA member or as a Taxi driver about a TFL policy in his role as the Taxi representative.

I hardly think in his TFL role seeking compensation for individual drivers with the 56 plate TX4's will be part of his brief, no more than Steve Wright can fight for compensation for Minicab drivers who may have purchased a defective car, that comes down to a civil dispute between the owner and the manufacturer, that's when being a member of a collective organisation such as the LTDA or ( ) the GMB will benefit the drivers as they take up the claim or at least assist them with any claim.

Extract from PCO Notice :

"There have been eight fires on 56 reg. TX4s in London since July this year. We are aware of 12 fires nationwide since May "

What about the fires on record in December of last year (2007)?
(Edinburgh)

From my own experience with my "saga" a little while ago, the FSA made the following statement to me "Because the Finance on your vehicle exceeds £25,000 it falls outside of our control,as such you should pursue the matter through your Solicitor against your Finance company and the Manufacturer" Incidently it took the FSA 3 months to give me this statement, after corresponding with me on numerous occassions passing it down through their departments !

Sale of Goods act still "Protects" the purchaser but the Court "path" takes you down a much more complicated route because of the larger financial claim. I`m not an expert just speaking from 18 months of "experience".

To the owners of TXImage's
I don't wish to give you more to worry about but a few years ago my accountant told me that if you buy a cab and you have more than £22,000 in credit to repay then your statutory rights including the sale of goods act are affected and a new set of rules comes into play.
I am not sure about this but it would be worth taking advice before anyone starts quoting this supposed safe guards.

Also how come the price of a Vitto fitted with the London Taxi pack is £17,000 more expensive than one purchased for private hire.
That means a PHV driver can get a Vitto and a VW golf for about the same money as a Vitto Taxi and have enough left to insure them both for the first year.

I think this whole situation is getting out of hand and a solution needs sorting now. Someone must know what the actual problem(s) is/are.

The story below from Edinburgh must be being replicated all over the country and it's simply not on.

The PCO? :D

That may stand a better chance of being changed with all this hoo ha going on, plus the new administration in city hall won't be too impressed if there's a shortage of taxi's during the evenings and weekends when less drivers work.

Perhaps they should allow the yellow boys to fill the gap.
