Speeding drivers to be banned on second offence

Subject
ROAD TRAFFIC

Drivers who receive two convictions of exceeding the speed limit by 15mph in urban areas, or 25mph on motorways, will receive an automatic ban under new road safety regulations to be announced in October 2008. Digital speed cameras, which track speed over long distances, will be used to enforce the regulations.

Regards

Not really sure if anything has changed.

If you do 45 in a 30 zone you will get 4-6 points or a 7-28 ban and a fine of (around) one weeks wages.

If you do 95 in a 70 zone ditto.

More if you are driving a taxi/PH/PSV.

There is absolutely no getting away from these average speed cameras.

They are the future in speed enforcement & are totally lethal!!

Through time almost Millions of Motorists will be losing theire Licences due to Minor speeding infringements brought about by the over Zealous use of Cameras, even momentary Excess speed used for several safe overtaking manouveres will can take you to a higher average speed, and if we cant overtake safely the roads will become full of long Trains of frightened to pass Drivers. utter madness, needless and dangerously Frustrating to say the least.

If the tories had an ounce of sense theyed say they were going to ban all average speed Cameras and reduce by half all static Cameras whilst putting more Marked Vehicles on the road instead...that would get them a few Million Drivers votes in an Instance....we are the people of britain and we just wont stand for much more Injustice, nice people as we are we will eventually say enoughs enough.
