So if they just covered running costs then they'd not need licensed?

If they could prove to a court that there was no gain, either financial or promotional, then maybe they could get away with it.

But methinks they would fail the promotional bit.

Don't be naive, this is a foot in the door operation. Within weeks they will be dozens, months hundreds and with n a couple of years they will be thousands.

Thankfully laws outside of the M25 differ slightly from those inside. Thus it 100% illegal. Compared with your 99.99%.

And drivers outside of the smoke wouldn't stand for it. Other than the Liverpool T&G. ](*,)

Anyway, I suspect the reason the 'drivers' aren't that bothered is because they know it'll only last five minutes.

Thousands of rickshaws offering free rides in Liverpool?

Naive? Moi?

If your LA believe that then they are as stupid as the T&G bloke who made the comment.

What surprises me somewhat is why paul mcglaughlin of delta, was even asked for his reaction on the subject , as his private hire outfit is licenced in and by the' borough' of sefton , if the rickshaws were being introduced in to the bootle strand (thats the main shopping area in sefton ) , i'm sure Merseycabs (liverpools largest hackney cab firm) would not o been asked for their opinion !!

But that's like saying only drink drivers can pass comment on drink driving.

Perhaps he is concerned it going to effect all his Liverpool work. :D

I'm sure he is as they do cover a lot of pre booked work inside the Liverpool boundary they advertise there as well, but then that's because the HC's don't like to travel too far from home in case they get lost. Liverpool city centre is renound for it's cherry trees

Kevin Maguire..... is a T&G member..But has now joined a Organisation called the National Taxi drivers' Association......... with members from Preston and Liverpool..... how that becomes national I don't know... it is rumoured that they are being sponsored .
I would venture a guess that somebody is trying to get the E7 in.... pity they didn't pick somebody with brains .....

How many bookings do you reckon Delta receive from Liverpool city centre and how many bookings do you reckon Merseycabs receive from Bootle Strand?
