Was just looking at another thread where they mentined CCTV.
I contacted a company, DGTL Products of Rugby a few months ago.
http://www.cabcctv.co.uk
They are developing a legally complient system.
When I say legally complient, it is my understanding that: for the system to be used in a court environment, it must be a closed system with restricted access.
I have since had meetings with them to check it's availability (now) and abilities.
Theirs is currently under assessment from the London PCO and is tittering on the edge of being given the green light for London Hackneys.
I am informed that the fitted price is expected to be in the region of £800.
This, is due to the quality and specification of the equipment. It offers almost DVD quality recording in real time day and night.

They are in negotiations with a finance company to do a hire type agreement and are targeting £1 per day.

Anybody have a comparison or opinion.....
(Retorical question obviously!!!)

£800, FFS they have gone up from the ebay price of £50, so who lines there pockets with the rest of the money.

Only allowing 1 company to supply and install them could be classed as a monopoly, and other company's could supply them as well maybe even cheaper

As I said.. the storage & day and low light quality is pretty awsome.
It's already had successfull court results.
You spend £50 on a system and check the quality and storage capabilities.
Might as well turn it off after dusk and save the batteries..... But everyone knows that we don't need protection then anyway, all the bad people go to bed!

I understand Taxifix of Liverpool now charge one thousand five hundred pounds for a four camera system. No doubt it is a good system but the price seems prohibitive.

Are there any decent cctv systems on the market with multiple cameras and sound? I suppose one alternative is to make and install your own system.

Regards

JD
