Cab courses aren't needed, what is needed is a substantial knowledge test enccompassing an exstensive test of the laws under which we operate that is in addition to competent tests in the English language and numericy skills with a test on the ability to communicate with the passengers you carry. Could somebody tell me what they would consider to be a good course for taxi drivers. It seems we complain that every Tom, Dick or Harriett can get a badge but when they implement some kind of training requirement we complain about that as well. If we are not complaining about the actual course content we are complaining that it takes up our time

I would agree but currently the only bit they got is the suplemented aspect. What would you do with the drivers that already have badges?

If a driver is incompetent then at some point he or she will be caught, it would be up to the LA what to do.

I actually think JD is right with regard to the course contents or the knowledge test as he says. I don't agree that current drivers should not have to do this. I mean if you are already doing the job for so long it should be a doddle don't you think :D
