Almost ALL new cars have TINTED glass, its the question of "blacked out"* thats at issue, the tints serve to dim sunlight and cool the interior, so wheres the problem so long as it complies with the law?

Dundee city LA require all hacks to have 70% or more light emision through the glass or the vehicle will fail even though the Peugeot is for security in the luggage compartment

Ford/merc/VW/Skoda dont give a toss about LAs, they keep Vosa happy and that should be enough

anyway, will removing tinted glass really prevent attacks on either punters or drivers? i doubt it

How does this conflict with "no tinted glass regs" if the car came out the factory with tinted glass?

Quote:
5.7.6. Any vehicle that in the opinion of the Council has received any modification, other than by a recognised vehicle manufacturer, shall at the discretion of the Council undergo an additional safety test at a testing centre approved by the Council.

The word 'should' ain't in the council dictionary.

I can assure you the thing thugs/thieves etc etc hate the most is getting caught.

Far better chance of them getting caught in a vehicle without blacked out windows, and far better chance of an iffy driver getting caught doing iffy things in a clear glass motor.
