I don't think so, when he worked for me before he just didn't want to work unless a bill dropped on his doorstep. When his Mrs wanted to go shopping he'd come out and work a few hours to pay for it, that's just the type of driver he is.

man after my own heart

amassing money has no effect overall, savings arent safe, property is theft, only fools and horses work............

been talking to my folks today

dad had a stroke, theyve worked/paid tax+n.i/rent all thier lives

needing care theyve ended up in a care home, dads up and walking but not 100% (hes 86, a WW2 veteran)

the costs of the care home are £800 a week for the two of em (funded by social services), thier pension has been taken off em, also dads private pension, they get £20 a week pocket money...

if they had bought thier home, they would have been forced to sell it and pay the costs themselves till only £13K remained

so explain the point of either grafting/saving and/or buying homes?...

so yes, i am a little bitter.....and cynical

More to this than meets the eye.

But I'm more than happy the world thinking this isn't a proper job.

The way they played the other day they should have ALL resigned :D

A girl with an opinion on cricket?

Do you wear sturdy shoes?

Maybe we should spare them for now as England is perhaps able to repair the damage done last week if they keep playing well :D

You really don't know much about cricket, do you?

They may be on 600 dec. but they still have to take twenty wickets to win the game.

Oh you've so hurt my feelings eusasmiles.zip I'm an eternal optimist there is no reason in the world (apart from they're cr@p) that they can't win the game :D

Here is my one opinion and I don't want to be beat up over it but I didnt think sidebottom should have been picked as it was obvious his swing bowling wouldnt work. I shall of course remain optimistic :D

I was in my control room/call centre last night from 18.00 until about 04.00 this morning, I was pleasantly surprised by the work loads. Work has generally been pretty grim through February but last night i saw a significant increase in the number of jobs being processed. Hopefully job numbers will get back on track this month now that the punters have got over the expense of Christmas/new year.

Am i being overly optimistic as after all it was pay weekend, or did you all see an increase in work loads last night, do you expect job numbers to carry on improving?

I wouldn't care what the work load was if I had owners, as concerned as yourself, thinking about their drivers and not just themselves. It makes a pleasant change to find that you have actually been in your base to see what is happening at night time. It's like the twilight zone to our company owners. I did however notice more £20 around this weekend than since before christmas which incidently is only 298 days away, I think :D

It's quite simple actually toots, the better the drivers do the better i do, I don't earn a penny more or less if they have a good or bad night/week but the vibe is a lot better so if the drivers are happy then so am i :D

I know it's quite simple and I entirely agree with you but we have no respect for our owners anymore, they simply don't deserve any. There are a lot of drivers that would like to see them crash and burn so to speak. It's a shame but that's the way it is. I was brought up to respect all workers and they in turn would respect me as an employer but to be honest I think that school of thought is decreasing rapidly :D

I've got a very busy week ahead, Monday meet with my GM who's just back after 3 weeks holiday, then away with my team down to Luton in the afternoon for our system managers course with Auriga, back to school marvelous! :?

Tuesday and Wednesday both full day's in the class room, travel back in the evening, Thursday day off, Friday night meetings at the office and start building databases for the new Auriga system, Saturday more of the same building databases. Not a bad work load to say I'm supposed to be semi retired!
