Dear All,

Every year, my friend and I like to take part in a banger rally across Europe to raise money for charity. The idea is very simple, buy a knackered out old scrap (for less than £150 ideally), and race it until you either die in a car crash, or the car dies.

The best way, we've found, to get sponsorship money is to do it in a vehicle that the public instantly recognise and captures the imagination a little bit. After all, would you pay someone to do 10 laps of the M25 in a 2005 ford mondeo?

Last year we raced to Krakow in Poland in a panda car, complete with markings (we had to cover them up while in the UK). Our trusty panda car didn't let us down once. It did however let us down about 20 times and had everything from a broken cv boot (is that what it's called?), oil leak, radiator malfunction, a refusal to do 3rd gear, and a top speed that was laughable (30mph up a hill on the motorway, no joke).

So, this year, we'd like to do it in a proper london taxi, but from what I've seen they are all really expensive. I was wondering if you knew where to get a dirt cheap one for say, up to £300??

Fantasy???

Thanks in advance,
Rob

You placed that link on here over a year ago, the project has died.

If it's not, and you know something it's main future customer base (London) does'nt, then feel free to tell us more?
