Groundwork also signed up to a Mercedes-Benz Service Package. Under this, all labour costs, materials and lubricants required in routine servicing in the Mertrux workshop are covered for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever is reached first, for a one-off payment of just £450 plus VAT.

“We wouldn’t normally opt for a new vehicle,” adds Mr Hudson, “but we wanted a van that was reliable and efficient. We believe we’ve found that with the Mercedes Vito.”
