The PTS fee to work the airport is £570 per driver per annum (3 x £190 over 3 months).

BASTA allegedly took £840 per driver per annum in October 2008, had the airport contract to sign on 27th January 2009 & did not sign it for whatever reason.

PTS will be limiting the number of drivers & will then have a limited waiting list.

The rules are;

White shirt (tucked into trousers at all times), black trousers, black shoes.

Optional; black jumper & overcoat

NO PYJAMAS

NO Tracksuit tops or bottoms,

NO Tee shirts, lumberjack coats, denim or highly patterned multi-coloured shirts,

NO jeans

NO trainers

NO baseball caps, or other types of hat/headgear unless of a religious nature

NO sandals

NO Parka, multi-coloured coat or top or anorak.

All drivers sign a strict Code of Conduct.

ALL PTS drivers MUST have mobile Chip & Pin machine.

That might be so.

But the airport authorities are very pleased indeed at the NOW smart appearance of drivers on the airport rank.

And that is what matters.

For too many years ' Rag, Tag & Bobtail' worked there; but NO more.
