Is it really worth investing into a state of the art touch screen booking kiosk or is the taxi freephone the better option?

does anybodys firm use such kiosks where customer puts in a pound books the taxi, gets a ticket to hand to the driver? do customers actually use such kiosks or is it just another gimmick?

They've been about for a few years now, Taxibank and Autocab tired them a few years ago, I don't think they were a roaring success due to the mobile phone industry and the cheapness of calls. Many companies now do a call back which lets you know when your cab is outside waiting for you.

I would stick to the free phone.

People just want a cab, and there is nothing easier than picking up the phone and telling an operator just that.

Confusion will lead to old dears and the thick going elsewhere.
