Away from taxis for a minute....

I have taken the liberty of posting this on here from a local drivers newsletter. I hope it is worthwhile.

As some of you already know, the son of a close friend of mine has recently contracted meningitis. It has effected him so badly that he has had to have his lower arms and legs amputated. All four limbs. He celebrated his 4th birthday last week in hospital where he will be staying for at least the rest of this year.

2 of my sons are organising a sponsored bicycle ride from John o Groats to Lands End (900+ miles) to raise funds for the family who obviously will have a lot of adapting to do once little Harley does leave hospital.
I know its a pain in the arse when you see someone approaching you on the rank waving a sponsor form, especially when you have only done 2 jobs and they both went to the pyramid. But this really is a good cause and all donations will be gratefully received.

You can read more about this little boy at http://harleyslackfund.giving.officelive.com
or if you are on facebook Harley Slack >> come on Harley you can beat this Meningitis

I will warn you, its heartbreaking. But when you see a 4 year old kid that has lost his hands and feet, any problems you might have seem very trivial.

Bless his heart.

I wish him, his family and his friends well.
