The van has a camera mounted on the dash board to record all the images. The carpark is also covered by cctv cameras. Mind you, I wonder if the camera in the van is being used in accordance with the law?

Taking something without the owner's permission (eventhough you return it later) is still theft.

As for using a plasma cutter; that would be criminal damage.

As this is a post about nothing in particular, I thought you should all know that the scaffolders have come at last, some nine hours late.

If it was theft, then the police would prosecute every time.

In Scottish law, you only have to deprive someone of their property to commit theft. You don't have to remove it.
So clamping is theft here. :D

Clamping is illegal unless licenced by SIA. Cut it off and let them go to the police with a complaint. Even then they have to prove a contract. So many hoops to jump through.

Alternatively, pay by CREDIT card and sue for liquidated damages and obtaining payment under duress.

See www.pepipoo.com for further info.

It is only theft if you admit you have taken it.... the element of proof is on him not me..
