Caught On CCTV: 1am Gun Raid At Taxi Office
July 17 2009
Three men burst into Knotty Ash Private Hire Taxis and pointed a gun, knife and crowbar at two stunned workers.
They confronted a woman, 37, and her male colleague at the office on East Prescot Road shouting: “Give us the f******* money!”
After discovering there were no takings, the robbers stole mobile phones and a handbag before fleeing in the early hours of the morning.
They got into a dark coloured getaway car, believed to be driven by a fourth offender, which sped off.
Today, one of the victims spoke to the ECHO about her ordeal which left her in fear of her life.
She said: “They burst in and started screaming for money, but we told them there was nothing here.
“I was crying and got myself in the corner. They said, ‘Stop f****** shaking!’ They were getting a kick out of what they were doing.
“One man held the gun up to me and my colleague was going to push him out when he shouted at him, ‘Move or I’ll stab you’.
“It happened for about 10 minutes but it seemed like hours. It was my first night back at work, but I’ll be locking all the doors now.
“It’s still giving me nightmares.”
