There is no proof of that. Just propaganda.

 You will be telling us next that there was no holocaust, and that it was just propaganda.

Not at all. There is plenty of evidence of the holocaust, which is rather more than can be said of the risks attributed to passive smoking.
Traffic emmits far more cancer causing chemicals every day but I don't see anyone on here advocating the elimination of the internal combustion engine.
FFS anyone would think ppl didn't get lung cancer before Walter Raleigh.

Some people still believe that there was no holocaust even though, as you say there is plenty of evidence. Likewise there is plenty of evidence regarding the dangers of passive smoking but some just want to believe that all the evidence does not mean proof.
What proof is there that people died from lung cancer before Walter Raleigh?

I'm very lucky that I have never smoked a fag in my life.

With that in mind I would like to say that smokers are the most selfish bas***ds in the world, bar none.

Not so. I share my fag smoke with everyone, even the moaning faced b*stards like you who don't pay anything for it. I also contribute more to the finances of this country, unlike my non smoking bretheren who just leech off the services I pay for.

FFS, if we all did what you lot want - You freeloaders would have to pay your fair share in taxes

The piles of unburied corpses found after the liberation of Belsen, along with the eyewitness testimony of the survivors makes a pretty compelling case.
Far better than a few biased surveys produced by anti smoking groups and the sad tale of Roy Castle who, lovely man that he was, could well have contracted his cancer from standing waiting for too many buses.

There is far better evidence for global warming but some still don't believe that either

Ban all non-smokers from pubs and restaurants...... maybe they'll stop shutting down and reopen.

You're sooooo bad Doom

If the government don't want people to smoke then they should bite the bullet and ban the things. Make them illegal and do without the huge amount of tax that they provide. Then the non smokers can be happy as a pig in sh** when they are highly taxed to replace the loss of income generated.

The money saved by not having to treat people with smoking related desises would make up the difference.

Well that is what the government said to sell the smoking ban in the first place.

Perhaps we should ban alcohol too. The money saved not only on medical needs for the alcoholics and alcohol related deceases, but, the money saved in benefits given to these people who drink their lives away would be enormous. Not to mention the money saved that is used wasting police time, alcohol related crime and keeping the idiots out of trouble by locking them up. Also the lack of income tax not generated cos they can't work. The days off when people call in sick cos they've drank too much the day before. Alcohol is by far a bigger burden on the tax payer I'm sure, but, I could be wrong
