Buy yourself a copy of the sporting life and use a pin to make a selection. You will have more chance of making money that way.

Don't buy a plate until you have been in the trade for a few years.

If you want to work sh** hours dealing with sh** people then you will earn a living.

I work crap hours and I'm also making crap money but I'd seriously way up your options first. If you've been layed off and your currently getting any payment protection on loans or mortgages etc and whether you have a family and what sort of circumstances you have regarding when your spouse works. If you like a bevvie then take my word that after making crap money in midweek then having a saturday night off is like losing a weeks work initself. Currently my missus makes more money than me and if it's daylight I'm not even working so that's how bad it is where I am. I'm sure a few of the Scottish guys are better placed than me to speak but don't listen to any of the bull you get of any of your mates that do the job, In my opinion it's either a young man's or an old man's job ( and women, sorry Toot's) who have less dependents.
