and IMO if PH get into Bus Lanes in London very soon no licensed vehicle will be in......but thats maybe what the GMB want.

How can it be right that 42,000 (non London) English and Welsh cabs can use London's bus lanes, but 40,000 London licensed PH can't? :?

I remember Terry banging on about how the London electorate would never dare oust Livingstone as London has always voted Labour.

I think the problem Ken had was that he didn't control most of the bus lanes, that was/is down to local councils, which thanks to this Labour gov are in the main Tory.

Maybe if their is a Tory gov then those councils will become Labour controlled, and PH access to bus lanes could be allowed bit by bit.

Shame that the so-called best in the world can grasp equality. [-(

Because they're hackney carriages?

Don, you represent Minicab 800 drivers. (Thats the ones that can understand English)

Thats it.

The PH company bosses (apart from Fred Keen) all hate you.

The Mayor has said No.

The Bus companies have said No as your drivers can't drive.

All in all, you ain't got a snowballs chance in hell.

Indeed, let the battle commence, but who's leading, you and Steve McKenzie?

Go for it, make sure you keep us updated on the progress. :D

Point of correction : the Mayor has never said 'no', Boris Johnson when seeking election made this statement which has
never been repeated by him. Your 'friends' at the LTDF think it has something to do with Addison Lee's £25000 donation :D

The Bus companies can say what they like, the decision is not theirs to make.

The battle commenced in March the fact you haven't realised shows your leaders have not being paying attention we are moving swiftly towards our goal, just watch.

Oh Greg

I think it's a bit early to play show and tell, besides my email inbox would be filled by the knuckle dragging members of LTDF and the silly plans they make in the 'Green Room'.

Suffice to say that I am in London PH and campaigning for Bus Lanes.

Because 42,000 'out of town' Taxis aren't gridlocking London's Bus Lanes with their dreadful driving skills most of them acquired on the Serengeti plains.

How many out of town Taxis are in the London area during the Bus Lane hours? A hundred? Fifty?

There's 50'000 Minicabs, a lot of which are running with false licenses obtained under deception in order to escape the congestion charge.

That's why Boris will say no.

I must admit.....I have never used a bus lane in London whilst driving my cab from Carlisle

I'd like to though......even if it was for the £650 it would cost the customer for the privilege.

BRUMMIE how presumptuous of you to suggest that i hate black cabs.I have nothing but respect for them as i have for any other working class citizen who uses his/her labour to secure a living. I offer retorts purely as a way of stimulating debate.......PERHAPS YOU NEED ANOTHER HOLIDAY!

I am also of the opinion that a re branding of the "BUS LANE" may be imminent, perhaps to PASSENGER MOVEMENT LANE. or similar.

Don, who gives you your information, the tooth fairy? :D

London Minicabs are not getting in the Bus Lanes, it was even a Conservative Mayoral election promise!

Even politicians from your sponsored party didn't progress the plan.

If the Minicab fraternity, who seem to have the Griffen brothers as their unofficial spokespeople, really think they have a right to use the lanes, how come the only lane they choose to use is the most unenforced lane in London?

Try the camera enforced lanes that make up 99% of Bus Lanes in the capital. Take those to Europe as your test case.

But they don't.

Greg

Why don't you get LTDA to ask the Mayor to repeat that committment? Let me draw your attention to the Mayor's Transport Strategy:

"The successful PHV licensing process has seen an improvement in standards across the industry, and along with the Safer Travel at Night initiative, licensing has reduced the levels of taxi touting and illegal
cab activity. As the licensed industry matures, there may be opportunities to review the contribution such services play and reappraise
the restrictions in force."

Mayors Transport Strategy 12.10.2009

Boris could have said PH will never enter Bus Lanes in this document but he didn't , isn't uncle Bob on the Tfl Board (how did he miss that one?)?

Remember the Mayor controls a small section of London's bus lanes, the boroughs controls the rest. As there are only 23,000 Taxi Drivers (large proportion that do not live in London) your influence is waning. Remember who supplies 99.9% of london boroughs transport contracts, PRIVATE HIRE even Comcab has to subcontract to private hire on accounts.
