Minicab Driver fled country after bludgeoning wife

An east London man bludgeoned his wife repeatedly with a dumbbell before fleeing Britain on a Eurostar train, the Old Bailey heard.

Mini-cab driver Abdus Sabit, 47, was arrested three months later in Italy.

The body of Jusna, 36, was found in the bedroom of their home in High Road South, East Ham, in July, last year.

Sabit denies murder but has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Simon Denison, QC, prosecuting, said: "He bludgeoned her repeatedly with a dumbbell, then strangled her.

"He left her face down in a pool of blood. It is obvious he intended to kill her."

As he fled, Sabit abandoned the couple's four children aged between 16 and seven, said Mr Denison.

Mrs Sabit's body was found later that evening after her worried sister contacted police.

After his arrest, Sabit had written to his mother-in-law admitting the killing, it was alleged.

A Minicab driver being involved with Murder?

Really?

I'm shocked.

No, at least thousands to one.

That’s what happens when you import unscrupulous drivers with inefficient checks.

But why change the habit of a lifetime for our competitors.

The fault lies with the PCO.

So why don't the black cab unions/associations join up with the PH unions/associations and ask for a change at the PCO?

Oh yeah that was already tried and the black cab groups where falling over themselves to slag off that way forward.

IMO it's about time the London black cab trade got in head out of it's own ar*e.

It's not our problem though is it? Our side of the trade is'nt the one in the news for the wrong reasons on a weekly basis.

If the Minicab side of the trade has problems with the calibre of driver they are attracting, which they obviously do, perhaps it would'nt be too much to ask that they sort it out themselves? :?

Just a thought.

Bottom line is that every time they're in the news for stuff like the above story, it's more power to our elbow in maintaining our good reputation, and more customers who will use a Taxi rather than a Minicab.

Shouldn't the so-called best in the world take a lead? :?

We already do, don't we? One wrong 'un in 20 years is a record that must rank number one, if not the highest in the world, in Taxi land, especially considering there's 26'000 of us.

I keep hearing how the Minicab lobby is all singing and dancing and well in there with modernisation, I'm sure they can cope without our assistance.

Perhaps the GMB could take a lead instead of wittering on about Bus Lanes, maybe they could concentrate on ridding the Minicab trade of folks like the above?

And besides, would Marks and Spencer come out to help Lidel if they had a quality control problem?

I suspect Lidl is much more profitable than M&S, so maybe your analogy is right. :D
