if the system, back up, service is that bad im sure you can contact some regulatory body such as trading standards, maybe if they give mercury a kick up the backside they will improve their act.

what really gets on my nerves is when there is blatantly a software problem bug or something and you try explain they know what you mean but they act dumb and slowly divert ur attention to something else

Have you got Mercury installed to?? I'm trying to build a small database of disgruntled Mercury customers so I can throw it at them when the Taxi show is on next year.

Why not use the phrase "not fit for purpose" and extract yourselves from the contract?
