It makes one wonder why the Institute of licensing is conducting a survey.. if one was sceptical, one would think it was to obtain information..... and then be manipulated to support their own views... they are not a government body..... so what they intend to achieve can only be for their own benefit..... as they have never been concerned with the everyday needs of the working taxi / private hire drivers....

Absolutely, so shouldn't we be looking after our needs by letting them know how we feel. By not talking we stand to lose out.

You make a good point, as I did in a similar thread when the survey came out.

But on reflection I think the IoL are in their own little world, and seem to only want to lead a crusade, they appear not to want to be an equal party to a joint crusade.

Sadly for them, no-one wants to be led by them.

Strange point to make this I know.......funny how this is the second questionairre in two years from the same group........if enough people respond it may be used as evidence that whatever the MOM or Stakeholders group want the IOL and a survey say different?

Just looking through the survey it is clearly designed to support their views on reform of taxi licensing I doubt that completing the survey is of any benefit to the trade

If you want your views taken seriously. then e-mail them straight through to the Ministry of Transport.... there is a link on here.....

The Institute of Licensing if they have their way will create a system that is beneficial to the licensing officer.... and you my friend.. and myself.... will not come into the equation..

Well...Possibly if we get rid of Nulab and their Insidious interfering and Quango loving ways then this type of parasitic creature will have nothing to feed off...only certain types of life can thrive under such a wasteful and invasive form of government.

The points I was trying to make. is that by filling in the questionnaire you are actually giving them credibility in the eyes of the Government..... but by sending your views straight to the Ministry of Transport... they will be on record without any body manipulating the results....

 I know :) It's a reasonable assumption to make "MR T " but what are the chances of our views being considered important enough to be taken into account if they are not being asked for. I appreciate that when I came across the link and posted it I hadn't read it all through and you are right it's not for ours but their own benefit. So far however we don't seem to have semblance of a single a voice across the country, is that at all a drawback?

The voice of your views in truth is your local MP.... if and I say if .... members of your local taxi trade go to him or her .. or even write then he has to represent you at government level..... you can join Associations or unions... and add your voice to there's,

Personally I think the more MPs that get involved the better..... but for that to happen....
the brain dead people who drive taxis would have to wake up to what is happening.
