Nigel I really feel sorry for you.

The proposed changes for Sefton is that all licences will be reduced by 12 per cent.. except for hackney vehicle licences which will stay the same at £140 per year.... but a percentage of that will be ring-fenced to pay for new ranks..... the hiring of kerb heights at ranks for the easier loading and unloading of wheelchair passengers.... and the possibility of shelters at certain hackney stands......

I searched your council website last night for the minutes and reports in connection with the fee increase and couldn't find them, could you get a copy or link for me/us?

Can't find them either mate, I bet they don't put them on until the new fees come into play.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 – S70
Fees for Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles.

Dear Sir,

We wish to OBJECT to the revised scale of fees and charges advertised recently.

Our ground for objection is that the fees to be charged by the Council are excessive and unreasonable in the context of the Act

We will be submitting a more detailed statement of the grounds for our objection shortly.

In the meantime I would be grateful if you could acknowledge receipt of this letter and advise the date of the Council meeting which will consider the Objection and what right of attendance and speaking rights will be available to us.

Yours faithfully,
