Chinese firm Geely will launch its own version of the London black cab at this month’s Beijing motor show.
Geely’s Englon TXN concept is a modern recreation of the classic TX4 black cab. The firm has released two low-quality renderings of it running through London’s streets, as well as interior pictures.
See the Englon TXN pictures
Geely is poised to take a controlling stake in the maker of the London black cab Manganese Bronze, and it recently shifted production from Coventry to China.
The cabs had been produced be Manganese’s subsidiary London Taxis International since 1948 and the production shift resulted in 60 job losses.
Full details of the Englon TXN will be revealed at the Beijing motor show, which starts on 23 April.

But the cab looks like one of those BMW 4x4s from the side and the back and an old Morris from the front
The driver protection looks ok though but how many punters will it carry what engines are in them, Tone email them for a full info brochure

It looks one step closer to a purpose built saloon taxi IMO. Obviously they have no intention of selling this here. My other query would be why buy something because of it's reputation then change it so much :?

You've something in common with geely then, Skippy.

You don't give a feck about wheelchairs either.

Dunno..but it said it was a photoshop image so the cabs been digitally superimposed on to a london Back drop.. and the differances in shadow angles seem to bear that out..But not Knowing london...it might be anywhere!!
