I hope you are right  :-|

TBH with your bigoted comments over a number of threads I hope they stay, cause you to go bankrupt and you leave the trade.

When it happens in Hastings , which it will in time, I don't think you will be so quick to condemn!!

Bigoted or not I tell it as it is...... :-|

rumour has it that all non english drivers that already had a badge were given the answars through an interprerter on the knowledge test when it came into force a few years ago, making the whole point of the test a joke!

Well then that needs to be reported to the licensing officers.

One of my big hates is/are cab drivers that sit around all day moaning about this and that yet do f*** all about it.

OOOOH we have many a time but they can't do anything!! The race card is called every time!! Why do you think we are so resentful here? Even the Asian guys that were here before things got stupid admit that it has gone to far!! So call me bigot if you have to as it still makes no difference.
As for going bankrupt, I've been in the trade for 23 years and will survive as I have no finance or mortgage to worry about as most of the others have to contend with. With only 8 years to go and a reasonably good pension to look forward to, I doubt it!! :-|

it was our licensing officers that provided the test & when asked if it was true that non english speaking people were given the answars, they didnt deny it, their answar was that the knowledge test wasnt put in place to reduce the number of already badged drivers

I do believe as it got harder in Southampton, as they tightened up, but too late as was happened here, many came to Winchester hoping to get in, which they managed to do. The latest from our LO is that there are now 20 more applicants for H/C!! He feels and hopes that many won't get through as he feels powerless to help us as he thinks it's totally unfair that the council here do not wish to help us...... :-| eusasmiles.zip

As far as i know, there isnt any more drivers appearing in our area & most of the bad one's that didn't have a clue where they were going have moved on or improved their knowledge.
I personally couldn't care less if you are pink, purple, blue or black, what i object to is people who cant read or understand hardly any english driving a cab, i've heard a few horror stories & it wasn't the colour or race of the driver that was an issue, it was their lack of understanding of english & knowledge of the area that made customers feel vunerable & young girls quite scared when taken in the wrong direction at 3 in the morning!

If anyone doesn't get any joy from their LOs they must complain to the licensing chair.

Doing nothing isn't an option.

Please put down, or PM me, any concerns your local trade has in relation to poor enforcement and I will get someone to do something about it.

As usual you know nothing about me.... The truth is I actually have Asians as friends and they often agree with a lot of the things I say, they also have a sense of humour when it comes to banter about different races/religions and how people can become their own worst enemies. Your problem is you are so politically correct and so far up your own bum ya can't see past the end of your nose. I say it as I see it and if it sounds bigoted to you...... tough! When the Asian Invasion hits Hastings lets see how welcoming you will be when your income starts to drop drastically and you all start moaning you ain't earning enough. I doubt then that you will be hiding behind Admin to voice your opinion, which I accept whether I like it or not.... :-| 8) Ya can't beat freedom of speech.....   :-|

As usual you know nothing about me....

And I'm more than pleased for that to remain so.
