London Taxi Drivers are staging a series of 'UNITED CABBIES' Mass Drive-In Demonstrations

In..... THE ALDWYCH

On... Weds 26th May
Weds 2nd June.....With More Dates To Follow

At 3PM

For the following reasons....

1. Non-effective Enforcement of Satellite Offices, the illegal touting by Private Hire, and the dereliction of duties by the PCO, Tfl, TOCU and the Local Authorities in failing to uphold the law in regards to Private Hire.

2. Non Enforcement of the M4 Bus lane with regards to the use by Private Hire and other motorists.

3. Persecution of Taxis by Westminster, Camden and other Local Authorities.

4. Oversubscription of Yellow Badge Suburban Sectors without control, and the growth of illegal minicab ranks.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This action is NOT affiliated to any trade organisation or association, but is organised by 100% working cab drivers and is open to anyone who earns a living in the London Taxi trade.

Every Taxidriver is asked to support this action.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you drive a Taxi for a living, you don’t need us to tell you how bad things are out there.

We have had enough and we intend to put a stop to this before the Taxi trade is wiped out.

TfL’s agenda is to merge us into a lower standard ‘one tier’ service with private hire, and that will be the end of the London Taxi trade.

We must all stand ‘together’ now and stop this from happening!

If you see this as an opportunity to earn money while the rest of us fight for your job, then hang your head in shame.

Every single one of us must support this demo and fight to save the ‘World’s Best Taxi Trade’ from being obliterated.

This demonstration is intended to highlight the Authority’s incompetence to the whole world.

This will be the first of many planned demonstrations until our demands are met.

The French wouldn’t stand for it, so why should we!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If any member of any trade organisation tries to tell you this demo is cancelled, they are lying!

We tried something llike this in York and whilst we were all outside demonstrating the greedy sh**houses who were supposed to be with us carried on working, which kind of divided the trade even further as now people do not acknowled certain people.

The same would happen here in my manor, so getting "organised" as I have tried, is a complete waste of time, so the only way will be when drivers are going "bankrupt" :? but allowed to keep their cabs (tool of the trade) to carry on as before? Then going bankrupt again and again so wiping out their debts each time, which I find pointless yet they arrogantly seem so proud of!? The more honest ones leaving the trade in desperation, which is happening, so a few more years of hardship maybe the "medicine" it requires..... :x  :-|

Maybe well run unions in well run areas don't need to shout and demonstrate to achieve their aims.

The sensible sections of some unions don't need to do all that.

But at least you now have clarification, if any was needed, as to who the sh** houses are.

Apart from this post and one on Jim Thomas's 'blog' , no one I spoke to today has a scooby about this planned demo, so I can't see it having much impact if no one knows about it.

I'm assuming it has some Railway Union input. :?
