BREAKING NEWS!!

England are to change their shirts for the vital, must win, last group match against Slovenia.

The three lions on the England team's shirts will be replaced by three tampons to represent the worst period they've ever had!!!

Two jewish Scotland supporters go to Hampden Park to get tickets for the next Scotland football match. The woman at the ticket office asks, "Have you both been circumcise?"

The two jews reply, "Of course we have!"

The woman says, "I'm sorry, but the Scottish FA's rules prohibit me selling you any tickets for any Scotland football matches!"

The jews ask, "Why is that?"

The ticket office woman replies, "That's because we only sell tickets for Scotland football matches to complete knobs!"

The England team went to visit an Orphanage in South Africa this morning.
"It's so good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly struggling and facing the impossible" said Jamal Umboto, aged 6!

World Cup 2010: Diego Maradona style guide
Diego Maradona thrilled the world with his football, now he's delighting us with his style on the touchline. Read about the six things that make the Argentina coach even greater than we thought.

Published: 1:27PM BST 20 Jun 2010

1. The grey suit

A staple of his World Cup style. Diego would not been seen dead on the touchline without his grey/charcoal suit, which is usually accompanied by a crisp white shirt and thin tie. Not only does it look dapper, but it also appears very durable. No matter how wildly he celebrates a goal, the threads return back to their normal state after a quick brush down. The acid test, however, will come in extreme weather conditions.

2. The earring

Maradona doesn't just do bling, he does bling that can land you in trouble with the police and the taxman. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... taxes.html

3. Hublot special edition watch #1

No Hand of God would be complete without the smartest watch on the market. With a silhouette of the great man engraved on the back, it also has Diego's signature on the face. Only he could get away with wearing his own merchandise. Well, maybe Che Guevara as well, but we'll never know.

4. Hublot special edition watch #2

That's right. Maradona wears the exact same watch - only this time, on his unholy hand. It has the exact same features and functions, with one vital difference: this watch tells Maradona what time it is back home in Argentina.

5. Rosary beads

The signal of popular and traditional Catholic devotion, Diego shows that he still has time for his religious side when trying to guide his side to World Cup glory. Perhaps his most essential accessory on a personal level. Maradona also gives eight Hail Marys at the kick off from the sideline.

6. Designer beard

Not for Diego the greying whiskers, instead a yin-and-yang badger of facial hair that can be rugged appear rugged or refined depending on his mood. Sets off the suit well, too.

Bishop of Croydon offers prayers for the England team
Bishop of Croydon, offers a two-word prayer for England: 'Oh God'

Published: 10:23PM BST 20 Jun 2010

The Rt Rev Nick Baines, the Bishop of Croydon who is touted as a future Archbishop of Canterbury, wonders if we haven't been "over-rating, over-hyping and over-anticipating" England's chances in the World Cup.

Still, after watching the team's "remarkably aimless" game against Algeria, he has been moved to pen two prayers. The first consists of a two-word profanity: "Oh God."

The second goes like this: "God, who played the cosmos into being, please help England rediscover their legs, their eyes and their hunger: that they might run more clearly, pass more nearly and enjoy the game more dearly. Amen."
