Unfortunatly for you i believe that both of your sugestions would be against the law as it stands.

well if taxpayers are funding it then the taxpayer should be able to see them, the only visible difference usually is "nil" on the bit where mine says ive paid "£150"....

A BENEFITS swindler who claimed he was crippled was filmed doing "keepy-uppy" with a football before playing for a team.

Kevin Freeman, 31, trousered £11,217 in disability allowances, saying he could walk only 18 yards without sticks.

But he was rumbled when undercover investigators acting on a tip-off tailed him to a Sunday League game.

Freeman - who registered for his local pub team Great Western under a false name - was filmed warming up on the sidelines.

He juggled a ball with his feet, head and shoulders before going on the pitch to race around as a substitute striker.

He was awarded a higher rate mobility payment by the Department of Work and Pensions - normally paid to those unable to walk without severe discomfort or people with no feet.

aye....that'd make mobility a wee tad more Difficult

Not if all disabled vehicles had to be licensed like taxis & their drivers had to attain an NVQ in Transporting Disabled Passengers in a Mobility Vehicle.

If legislation was brought in to license them, then they would need to be licensed.

Hell!! The government licenses & taxes everything else, so why not license mobility vehicles & their drivers.

Also, if you did that you could prosecute drivers who drove mobility vehicles without the appropriate driver licence. That would stop a lot of 'family' using the mobility car, which always has a 'free' tax disc & should only be used by the benefit recipient or a driver that is driving them or strictly on the benefit recipient's business.

There needs to be a criminal offence in these abuse cases, that is easily prosecutable by the police.

A sizable minority of those driving mobility cars must have passed a driving test because the Examiner was more sympathetic to their disability needs than to their actual driving prowess...Theirs some of them around here that should'nt be let loose in a field never mind drive a powerful new car on the Queens Highways..they use their cars as mobile observation platforms to rubber neck all and sundry, their heads swivelling and craning from side to side to see what others are up to rather than looking at the road in front of them...seriously dangerous to other road users.

They would be better served if the goverment gave them £2000 of vouchers to use on Taxis or PH,s to help them get around..rather than a new £15,000 car every 3 years...It may even help pull the Trade out of the Doldrums... :?

even if the gov brought in a single colour scheme for disability cars it would save the taxpayer many millions a year,i have three relatives all just under fifty each has been on disability for thirty years, thats ninety years between them, all three get more exercise in one day than i get in a month, all three are regulars to the spanish resorts where they enjoy swimming and drinking/dancing,i also have a neighbour who is dependant on alcohol and has a disability car because it has affected his ability to walk but he can still manage a fifteen hours cabbying fri/sat night,he has also been reported for driving a cab under the influence by at least two customers, add to this all the customers i see every shift (disabled on the way to doctors ,totally healthy soon after)its getting out of hand, disability is now the main target for fraudsters, why go for £60 a week when you can get £100 plus a brand new car,and still work on the side, and of course its us mugs that pay for it all

i dont think it would, they would opt for the cash

how many run cheap old cars and bag the cash? the novelty of a nice new car is the first thing the scroungers want, i know several families with "challenging" children who get mobility and a new car every 3 years

how do i get on the bandwagon?

dyslexia is a recognised condition and some parents get the carers allowance though the kids are at school all day!

this country is mental

Get yourself a seriously painfull back problem....you might not actually have one but they cannot prove that you dont have one either...

I think thats the easiest option....

In a nut-shell!!!

Instead of web-sites with petitions to No 10, why doesn't the government set up a web-site to inform on people as mentioned on this thread?
